Cashel
The Rock of Cashel

Picture
Set on a dramatic outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale, the Rock of Cashel, iconic in its historic significance, possesses the most impressive cluster of medieval buildings in Ireland. Among the monuments to be found there is a round tower, a high cross, a Romanesque chapel, a Gothic cathedral, an abbey, the Hall of the Vicars Choral and a fifteenth-century Tower House.

Picture
We went to Bunratty Castle for a medieval dinner and show. It's a tourist trap, but the food was good, the show was enjoyable, and we had a great deal of fun.
Picture
Laurie and Dave became the king and queen of the castle. They had the best time, but here we are enjoying our meal!

Dingle

Picture
I loved the seaside village of Dingle.

Foynes

Picture
We visited the Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum. Home to the world's only full-size replica of a B314 flying boat, the Yankee Clipper. It also is where Irish coffee was created.

Picture
St. Stephen’s is the only German church for which the Jewish artist Marc Chagall (1887 - 1985) created windows.

 Castles along the Rhine

We were the first ship to be able to cruise this part of the Rhine River since June. Low waters had forced passengers to disembark and pick up a ship further down the river. We might have had a lot of rain, but it allowed us to view all the castles between Mainz and Koblenz.
