Course Description
This course beings with a self-assessment: Do you prefer individual or group travel Is down-time important to you on a trip? Do you travel to eat? Once you understand what you need to have an enriching trip, you can make better decisions about how to travel. We will explore several issues related to different kinds of traveling, including different types of group travel, destination management companies (DMC), individual travel (FIT), and river and ocean cruising. As we mature, many of us choose group tours, where almost everything is managed for us. With a wide variety of tour operators (TOs) from which to choose, we will look at pros and cons of some of the major TOs. We will also learn how to read an itinerary to understand exactly what you will see or visit.
